Eco-Filter Tubes

Eco-Filter Tube (EFT®) Solution

Many of our erosion control projects involve the installation of our Eco-Filter Tube (EFT®). The effects of soil erosion through wave action, wind, and aquatic species, can be devastating. EFT® is a very economical embankment restoration solution. The material for the tubes is made of permeable polypropylene, filled with sand and organic matter, pumped hydraulically from the site’s lake bottom, or if the sand is inadequate in quantity or quality, then sand is brought to the job site. Once filled and properly placed based on engineering geotube specifications, the EFT®s will endure for many years. Some Eco-Filter Tube benefits include:

  • Sand and Eco-Filter Tube materials used in the tubes are essential to allow proper drainage and ensuring an environmentally friendly erosion control solution.
  • The sand in the tubes functions as a filter for underwater seepage.
  • The Eco-Filter Tube solution enhances the quality of the lake water as it keeps environmental threats from entering the body of water.
  • Eco-Filter Tube installation bypasses the need to bring heavy equipment to the job site, preventing the possibility of damage from the large weight of the equipment.

Another advantage to using our EFT® to restore a shoreline: littoral plantings, shrub, sod or ground cover is feasible.

Dewatering

EFT® systems for dewatering services (or dredging services) have proven themselves to be extremely efficient for containment and dewatering of pump slurry by-products, industrial waste, municipal sludge, pulp and paper sludge, and other marine sediments. The EFT® system allows for safe and efficient sediment removal using dredging equipment.

Various Uses

  • Canal Dredging
  • Creek Dredging
  • Increasing Retention Pond Storage Capacity
  • Inlet or Culvert Sediment Removal
  • Lake Dredging
  • Marina Dredging
  • Pond Dredging
  • Pond Liner Maintenance
  • Silt Dredging
  • Stormwater Management System Maintenance
  • Wetland Enhancement and Restoration

They are custom manufactured in circumferences and lengths for each particular dredging process with prefabricated filling ports and tie down straps along the length of the tubes. They will work well with any hydraulically transported material. The dewatering tubes are especially designed for the mechanical stresses associated with the filling and placement processes, including abrasion, tearing, puncturing, and flattening.
